Traveler Visa Requirements

A note to ASEAN passport holders: countries with special visa provisions for ASEAN passport holders are noted below. ASEAN (Association of Southeast Asian Nations) countries are Brunei, Indonesia, Laos, Malaysia, Myanmar, Philippines, Singapore, Thailand, and Vietnam.

Vietnam

We currently offer 2 of 3 types of Vietnam visa.

1. 5-Year Visa Exemption – 7-10-Day Turnaround

The 5-Year Visa Exemption is available for persons of Vietnamese decent, their spouses, and children, regardless of nationality. Visa is valid for 5-years/multiple entry. Cost US$80.00

Requirements:

a. Copy of valid passport. Passport should have minimum 1-year validity. 5-Year Visa Exemptions are based on the validity of your passport and will only be issued for that validity

b. Copy of Marriage Certificate (Spouse) Birth Certificate (Child)

c. 2″x 2″ “passport style” picture: Full face. No hats, no glasses, no masks

d. The consulate may request more documents from the applicant

2. Vietnam e-Visa – 3-Day Turnaround

The Vietnam e-visa is a 30-day, single-entry e-visa and is available online for US$25.00. Apply at https://evisa.xuatnhapcanh.gov.vn/trang-chu-ttdt

Requirements:

a. Copy of valid passport

b. 2″ x 2″ “passport-style” picture

c. Flight information

d. Personal information about applicant

Via their official site you will need to upload any documentation required in digital format. The e-Visa will be emailed to you upon approval. Universal Tours, Inc can apply for you for an additional fee of US$35.00 added to the US$25.00 e-Visa cost.

3. Vietnam Tourist Visa – Currently not available

These are standard tourist visas. Available in 30/60/90/1year validity and are a separate document. Currently, these visas are not available, except through the Embassy of Vietnam.

Bali/Indonesia

1. U.S Passport can apply for Visa on Arrival US$35.00 at the following airports:

Denpasar/Bali/Jakarta/Medan/Makassar/Yogyakarta/Manado

Visa on arrival for US Passport is valid for 30 days. This CAN be extended an additional 30 days; stay cannot exceed 60 days.

 

2. Members of ASEAN countries can enter Bali/Indonesia without a visa. ASEAN passports can stay no longer than 30 days. This Visa can NOT be extended.

Cambodia

1. US Passport can apply for an e-visa for US$35.00 + US$7.00 processing fee.

An e-visa for US Passport is valid for 1 single entry with a 30-day max stay. This e-visa can NOT be extended. Cambodia e-visa website: https://www.evisa.gov.kh If you would like us to submit your e-Visa, there will be an additional fee of US$35.00.

 

2. Members of ASEAN countries can enter Cambodia without a visa.

China

1. China visas are not being issued at this time.

Foreigners holding valid China visas may not travel to China at this time.

2. Foreign Nationals

Foreign Nationals holding valid Chinese Residence Permits for work, personal affairs, and family reunions are allowed to enter China with no need to apply for new visas if the purpose of going to China remains unchanged.

3. Holders of Chinese Permanent Resident ID Cards

Holders of Chinese Permanent Resident ID Cards do NOT need to apply for visas to enter China within the validity of the ID cards.

India

1. India e-visa is available for most valid passports, including USA and Vietnam. E-visa cost, regardless of passport.

a. 30 Day/single entry April-June US$10.00

b. 30 Day/single entry July-March US$25.00

c. 1-year/multi-entry all year round US$40.00

d. 5-year/multi-entry all year round US$80.00

2. E-Visas are available online

E-Visas are available online at https://indianvisaonline.gov.in/evisa/tvoa.html. Should you prefer that we submit for your e-Visa, there will be an additional fee of US$35.00.

Japan

1. There is no visa fee to enter Japan for USA passport.

Currently, Japan is only open to tourists that are on a scheduled tour and have the proper documentation from a company in Japan. This is for a 90-day, single entry. Japan has no e-visa.

2. Japan is issuing visas for family visits, former nationals, work, and other categories of traveler.

Korea

1. USA citizens and most countries passports can apply for the Korea K-ETA (Electronic Travel Authorization).

K-ETA authorization is generally valid for multiple trips over two years or until your passport expires, whichever comes first. You can apply for a K-ETA here https://www.k-eta.go.kr/portal/apply/index.do. The fee is US$8.00. Turnaround time is four days. You must apply and be approved BEFORE you board your flight. Please note that the K-ETA is not a visa, and entry to Korea is at the discretion of Korea Customs/Immigration upon arrival.

 

2. Vietnamese passport and countries not on the K-ETA list must apply through their responsible consulate or embassy.

Laos

1. USA passport holders

USA passport holders can apply for a Laos e-Visa.

The cost is US$50.00 with a turnaround time of 3 business days. Apply here https://laoevisa.gov.la/info.

2. Vietnam passport holders

Vietnam passport – no visa needed; a valid passport is required.

Malaysia

Both USA and Vietnam passport can enter Malaysia without an advance visa.

These passport holders will be stamped in upon arrival with a max stay of 90-days. This can be extended while in the country.

Myanmar

1. USA passport may apply for Myanmar e-Visa.

The cost is US$59.00 for a 3-day turnaround time. Apply here https://evisa.moip.gov.mm/tourist/message e-Visa may be extended in the country.

2. Vietnam passport holders

Vietnam passport – no visa needed; a valid passport is required.

Singapore

1. USA passport holders

USA passport holders do not need a visa to travel to Singapore for a 3-day or shorter stay. USA passport holders must fill out an online SG Arrival Card. This replaces paper arrival forms and adds a health declaration. Apply here https://eservices.ica.gov.sg/sgarrivalcard/.

2. Vietnam passport holders

Vietnam passport – no visa is needed; a valid passport is required, and SG Arrival Card declaration.

Taiwan

1. ROC nationals

Currently, Taiwan is open to ROC nationals. They also have a mandatory quarantine for other passports. It is advised not to visit Taiwan apart from business or family.

2. Transit passengers

Transit passengers on all passports are exempt from testing and quarantine.

Tahiti/French Polynesia

1. USA passport holders

USA passport holders do not need a visa to enter Tahiti/French Polynesia for stays under 90-days.

2. Vietnam passport holders

Vietnam passport holders need to apply for a visa before arrival at the responsible consulate for your state.

Thailand

USA or Vietnamese passport holders

Neither USA nor Vietnamese passport holders need a tourist visa before arrival.

Philippines

1. USA passport holders

2. Vietnam passport holders

Qatar

1. USA passport holders

USA passport holders have visa on arrival for stays under 90-days.

2. Vietnam passport holders

Vietnam passport holders need to apply for a no-cost Q-ETA. Apply here https://etaqatar.com/

United Arab Emirates (Dubai)

1. USA passport holders

USA passport holders have visa on arrival for stays under 30-days.

2. Vietnam passport holders

Vietnam passport needs a tourist visa before arrival. Tourist visas are processed through Emirates Airlines, Etihad Airlines, or the hotel/tour company you booked. Short-term visas (48 -96 hours) are also available for short stays.
