Noi Bai Airport is approximately 30 miles north of Hanoi city center.
Taxi Cabs: You will find taxis outside the exit. Cabbies outside the airport are usually negotiable; a single person fare should run about $4.00 USD (61 – 62,000 VND). Return taxi’s can be arranged by your hotel and by travel agencies.
Mini Busses: Mini buses transfers can be purchased at the counter in the airport. It will also be about $4.00 USD for the one-way trip.
Customs/Duty Free:

Tobacco: 200 cigarettes, 50 cigars, or 250g of tobacco
Alcohol: 1 liter of wine or liquor
Film: Unlimited amount of film
Cash: Not more than $10,000.00 USD. No local currency may be exported.
Antiques: Can be confiscated permanently.
High Ticket Items: Require export permits from customs service. |
Warning! Items that could be deemed pornographic (photos, books, magazines, etc) can cause the individual a lot of headaches. The material will be confiscated, you will be detained, and you will be subject to a hefty fine (up to $2,000 USD for one video
tape). Remember it doesn’t have to be pornographic material, it just has to be deemed it by the inspector and Vietnam is a different country with different views. |
