GEOGRAPHY

Population: Approximately 81 million
Vietnam
is an “S” shaped country that lies in South East Asia,
facing the South China Sea. Vietnam is bordered to the north by China
and to the east by both Cambodia and Laos. Vietnam boasts
more then 3,400 kilometers of coastline and that doesn’t
include its islands. This, and with its central location
to other popular destinations in Asia and Oceania, gives
Vietnam a great potential for tourism.
Vietnam’s topography is quite
diverse. The country, although located entirely in the
tropics, has mountain ranges, rivers, deltas, forests,
and coastal zones, providing a vast array of terrain and
activity for any traveler.
CLIMATE
Vietnam is located in both tropical and temperate zones.
It is characterized by strong monsoon influences, but
has a considerable amount of sun, a high rate of rainfall,
and high humidity. Regions located near the tropics
and in the mountainous regions are endowed with a temperate
climate. |
